The ocean is our home, source of nutrition and playground. Without it, our sailing adventures or Catamaran Supply wouldn't exist. We feel strongly that in order to successfully continue our work, giving back to help conserve our oceans must be an integral part of our business.
As a member of 1% for the Planet, we are donating 1% of our 2020 sales to Sailors for the Sea. We welcome any suggestions you may have for non-profits in the marine field.
Sailors for the Sea, Powered by Oceana, is the world’s only ocean conservation organization that engages, educates and activates the sailing and boating community toward restoring ocean health.
The marine industry has a long way to grow to reflect the sentiments of most sailors, who are welcoming towards anyone with an interest of being on the water. A big part of that is changing the image of sailing to become more inclusive. Although we are in the initial phases of building our company, we would like to increase the representation and accessibility of sailing for people of all backgrounds.
At Catamaran Supply we are not just building a business; we would like to grow a community. We believe the key to a community is inclusivity as well as supporting other community-building organizations. This has led us towards local New England organizations that foster this environment, with a focus on giving minority youth the opportunity of sailing. We'd like to offer our ability of providing marine supplies and our time as volunteers to a deserving non-profit in our area. Our research is ongoing and we would appreciate your help as we may miss an organization that is close to your heart and community.
We encourage you to use the resources we've found so far and welcome you to add suggestions as we build our efforts and collaborations with community boating non-profits and minority-owned businesses.
